Our Mission

Why we exist.

ValidRx was founded to bridge the divide between patients and their medications. It also strives to close the gap between the clinical expertise pharmacists carry and the tools available to apply it.

The Problem We're Solving

Expert-level medication safety should be accessible to everyone.

Medication-related events are a massive public health concern. Adverse Drug Events (ADEs) are estimated to cause up to 250,000–300,000 deaths and millions of emergency room visits annually in the U.S. — making them the third-leading cause of death.

💊
Polypharmacy Burden
Over 40% of U.S. adults 65+ take 5 or more medications — nearly double the rate from two decades ago. An estimated 20% of hospital readmissions are tied to adverse medication events linked to polypharmacy.
🔄
Drug–Drug Interactions
The risk of an adverse event jumps from 13% with 2 drugs to over 80% with 7 or more. The FDA processes over 160,000 drug interaction reports annually — many resulting in hospitalization or death.
🩺
Drug–Disease Interactions
Drugs can worsen existing conditions — NSAIDs causing fluid retention in heart failure patients is a classic example. The "prescribing cascade" — treating a drug side effect with yet another drug — compounds polypharmacy risk further.

The knowledge to prevent these events exists — inside the minds of clinical pharmacists — but it has never been adequately translated into tools that patients and providers could actually use.

ValidRx exists to bridge this gap. This software puts pharmacist-level medication intelligence into the hands of anyone who needs it — from the patient managing more than 5 medications at home, to the clinical pharmacist running a Medication Therapy Management (MTM) practice, to the clinician needing a dose calculator in the ICU at 3am.

"We built the platform we always wished existed."

questions.

Find answers about accounts, subscriptions, clinical features, and pharmacist services. Can't find what you need? Contact us →

Account & Access
How do I create a ValidRx account?
ValidRx uses a passwordless sign-in system. Simply enter your email address on any of our apps and we'll send you a 6-digit one-time code. No password needed. Your account is created automatically the first time you sign in.
I'm not receiving my sign-in code. What should I do?
Check your spam or junk folder first — the code email sometimes gets filtered. Make sure you're entering the same email address you registered with. Codes expire after 10 minutes, so request a fresh one if it's been a while. If the issue persists, email [email protected].
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account directly from the Account Deletion page. Enter your email address and confirm — your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted within 5 business days. This cannot be undone. Active subscriptions are cancelled automatically upon deletion.
Can I use ValidRx on multiple devices?
Yes. Your account and subscription are tied to your email address and work on any device — desktop, tablet, or mobile — using any modern browser.
Subscriptions & Billing
What's included in the free tier?
PolyCheck Personal's free tier includes drug interaction checking, allergy alerts, Beers Criteria screening, kidney/liver dosing calculators, and pharmacist consult booking. PolyCheck IV Compat is entirely free with no account required.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Log into your account, go to Account Settings, and click Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. You can also email [email protected] and we'll process it within 1 business day.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer a full refund within 7 days of any new subscription charge if you're not satisfied. Contact [email protected] with your account email and the reason for your request.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe — ValidRx never stores your credit card number. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of payment security available.
Clinical Features
How accurate is the drug interaction checker?
Our interaction database is clinically validated and reviewed by our founding pharmacist. We cross-reference multiple clinical sources and flag interactions by severity (major, moderate, minor). Always confirm with your pharmacist or physician for critical decisions.
How does kidney dosing work?
Enter your age, weight, sex, and serum creatinine. ValidRx calculates your creatinine clearance using the Cockcroft-Gault formula and assigns your CKD stage (1–5). Drug-specific dosing guidance is then provided based on your calculated CrCl.
What is the Child-Pugh score used for?
The Child-Pugh score assesses liver function by combining bilirubin, albumin, PT/INR, ascites, and encephalopathy. ValidRx uses it to generate hepatic dosing recommendations — Class A (well-compensated) through Class C (decompensated) — helping identify medications that need dose reduction in liver disease.
Is ValidRx a substitute for medical advice?
No. ValidRx tools are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional medical or pharmaceutical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before making medication changes.
Pharmacist Consults
How do pharmacist consults work?
After running a medication check, you can book a 15-minute consult with a licensed clinical pharmacist. Choose your preferred format (message, video, or phone), pay securely via Stripe, and receive a personalized response within 24 hours.
Are pharmacists licensed in my state?
All ValidRx consult pharmacists are verified licensed practitioners. Each pharmacist lists the states in which they are licensed. The platform automatically filters available pharmacists based on your location to ensure compliance with state pharmacy practice laws.
How do I become a ValidRx consult pharmacist?
Apply through PolyCheck Personal — navigate to the Pharmacist section and complete the application. You'll need to provide your license number, NPI, and practice details. All applications are reviewed by ValidRx before approval. Once approved, you set your own rates and schedule.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

Email address (for account creation and sign-in), name and professional credentials (for pharmacist applications), medication lists and health information you enter for drug checks, lab values you enter for dosing calculations, consultation questions and messages, and payment information (processed by Stripe — we never see your card number).

Information collected automatically

We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, precise GPS location, biometric data, or any information from minors under 13. We do not record audio from consultations — only text transcripts if you choose to use the transcription feature.

PolyCheck Personal allows patients to book one-on-one consultations with licensed independent pharmacists. The following terms apply to consult services:

  • Independent contractors: Consult pharmacists are independent licensed practitioners, not employees or agents of ValidRx LLC. ValidRx facilitates the connection and payment but is not responsible for the clinical content of consultations
  • Scope of service: Consults are intended to provide medication guidance and information. They do not constitute a formal pharmacist-patient relationship, prescribing authority, or diagnosis
  • Licensing: All consult pharmacists are required to be licensed in the patient's state. Patients are responsible for selecting a pharmacist licensed in their jurisdiction
  • Response time: Standard consults are responded to within 24 hours. This is a target, not a guarantee. Emergency medical situations should contact 911 or go to an emergency room
  • Payment: Consult fees are paid at the time of booking and are non-refundable once the pharmacist has begun reviewing your case. If a pharmacist declines a consult before reviewing it, a full refund will be issued
  • Recording and transcription: If you use the consultation transcription feature, you must obtain explicit verbal consent from the patient before recording begins. Audio is never stored by ValidRx — only text transcripts if you choose to save them

ValidRx's 20% platform fee is collected from each consult payment. The remaining 80% is paid to the consulting pharmacist.

Section 7

Clinical Disclaimer

ValidRx products are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Specifically:

  • Drug interaction information, dosing recommendations, compatibility data, and clinical calculations provided by ValidRx are reference tools. They do not account for all patient-specific factors and should not be the sole basis for clinical decisions
  • Always verify critical clinical information — including drug doses, interactions, and compatibility — against current prescribing information, institutional protocols, and primary clinical literature before acting on it
  • Pharmacist consult responses are professional opinions of independent licensed pharmacists. They are not formal clinical assessments and do not create a pharmacist-patient relationship in a legal or regulatory sense
  • ValidRx is not a pharmacy and does not dispense medications or issue prescriptions
  • In a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not rely on ValidRx tools in emergencies

ValidRx LLC, its founders, employees, and contributing pharmacists shall not be liable for any clinical decisions made based on information provided by ValidRx products.

Section 8

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ValidRx services to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or professional licensing requirement
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information — including falsely claiming to be a licensed pharmacist
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from any ValidRx product
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of ValidRx systems
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any ValidRx account, system, or database
  • Use ValidRx products to harass, threaten, or harm any individual
  • Share your subscription with others or resell access to ValidRx features
  • Use ValidRx AI-generated content as the sole basis for clinical decisions without independent professional verification

ValidRx reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these acceptable use terms, without refund.

Section 9

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of ValidRx products — including software code, clinical databases, algorithms, design, text, graphics, and logos — are owned by ValidRx LLC and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ValidRx products for their intended purposes during your subscription term. This license does not include the right to:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute ValidRx software or clinical content
  • Modify, create derivative works from, or reverse-engineer any ValidRx product
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Use the ValidRx name, logo, or branding without written permission

Your content: You retain ownership of all content you enter into ValidRx products (medication lists, notes, consult questions). By entering content, you grant ValidRx a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service to you.

Section 10

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ValidRx LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of ValidRx products
  • Any clinical outcome resulting from reliance on drug interaction data, dosing recommendations, or other clinical content provided by ValidRx
  • Any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
  • Any actions or omissions of independent consult pharmacists
  • Any service interruptions, errors, or security breaches beyond our reasonable control

In no event shall ValidRx's total liability to you exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid ValidRx in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Section 11

Termination

By you: You may stop using ValidRx at any time. To cancel a paid subscription, log into your account settings or email [email protected]. To permanently delete your account, use our account deletion page.

By ValidRx: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we determine that continued service poses a risk to other users or to ValidRx. We will provide notice where reasonably possible.

Effect of termination: Upon termination, your right to access ValidRx services ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including clinical disclaimer, limitation of liability, and intellectual property — will survive.

Section 12

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, and applicable federal law including HIPAA where relevant.

Dispute resolution: We encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] if you have a dispute or concern. Most issues can be resolved informally and quickly.

For disputes that cannot be resolved informally, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California.

Class action waiver: You agree to resolve disputes with ValidRx on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against ValidRx.

Section 13

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Effective" date at the top of this page
  • Notify registered users via email at least 14 days before changes take effect
  • Display a notice within our apps

Your continued use of ValidRx after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree, you may cancel your subscription and delete your account before the effective date.
